Mortgage advisor pleads guilty to charges
Wednesday 29th October 2008A mortgage advisor has pleaded guilty in a London court to forgery.
Simon Robert Gray, who practiced in Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk, admitted a total of nine charges.
He said that he breached the Forgery and Counterfeiting Act 1981 four times, by using forged documentation in job applications to mortgage advice firms.
One of the applications was to be an appointed representative of the advisory service, while the other was for a directorship.
In court today, Mr Gray said that he had committed five offences of providing misleading information to the Financial Services Authority (FSA), regarding his fitness to practice.
Mr Gray worked as the director of Direct Mortgages in the town between 2004 and 2007.
The FSA had no comment to make, as the case has yet to reach a resolution.
City of Westminster Court today adjourned the case until next month, in order to prepare a pre-sentence report.
