Yorkshire Building Society is creating 120 jobs at its headquarters in Bradford. The numbers will include 15 new staff to process activities related to the Yorkshire’s recent acquisition of Egg Banking’s £430m mortgage book and £2.5bn savings business.

In addition, 60 more jobs are being created at the YBS intermediary lending subsidiary, Accord Mortgages.

The YBS currently employs 1,500 staff in Bradford.

Andy Caton, YBS corporate development director, said: “It’s a very exciting time for the Society and we feel very positive as we look to the future as a strong and stable business which is offering customers a real alternative to high street banks.

“We place high importance on the quality of our customer service, and our recruitment of new staff reflects our continuing commitment to this priority and will help us as the business continues to grow.

“We value our Yorkshire roots and are pleased to be creating more jobs and supporting the local economy.”
