Who are you?

Edward Trustworth, 23

What does it say on your business card?

Founder, MyTenantedProperty.com

What does the business do and what are you offering?

We find tenanted properties. It’s that simple. We source tenanted properties from market, answering the questions that matter regarding the existing tenancy agreement, current rent, contact duration etc.

What is your background and what drew you to starting the business?

I graduated from university with a First Class honours in Computer Science (BSc). I then went on to work for a commodity trading business within their technology department. I started offering the service to a few overseas clients who were interested in the London market, without any financial gains, and thought; “I can really make a go of this here!”

What is the biggest challenge facing the property industry at the moment?

I think the uncertainty within the market is driving down the available stock, meaning it’s now a buyer’s market. When you start getting an uneven balance that’s when the cracks start appearing.

What is your greatest achievement in your current role and what made it so special?

The acknowledgement of some the industry’s big boys has definitely let us know we are doing a few things right. Not to mention the small but loyal user base we have acquired in such a small space of time.

Wouldn’t you say your competing with estate agents?

Not at all. We work hand-in-hand with estate agents to ensure their adverts reach their desired audience. People come to us for one thing, and one thing only, so if the price is right and everything checks out you’re on to a winner.

================================================

House or apartment?

I currently own a flat in London.

City or countryside?

City, born and raised in the city, but I have plans of leaving it behind when the time is right.

Modern and stylish or period and original?

Modern…

Rent or buy?

Every one has to start from somewhere so renting is a temporary solution but ultimately the aim is to buy and own.

Kirstie Allsopp or Phil Spencer?

I’d say Kirstie, pure tenacity…
