Asking price for homes on the market in England and Wales fell by 0.4% in December, with price cuts on 26,940 properties.

Typical time on the market rose for a fifth consecutive month, to 148 days.

There were monthly asking price falls in all English regions except Greater London, the property search engine Home has reported.

Home lists properties compiled from all the major portals and produces its information in conjunction with Calnea Analytics, which is responsible for the Land Registry house prices indices.
