Connect launches new tools for brokers

Connect for Intermediaries has launched new tools, features and expert guides in line with its brand-new website.

Boasting over 160 different lender product guides, Connect aims to make it easier and quicker for brokers to search lenders’ products and criteria without the need to check individual lender websites.

Its new ‘Tools & Resources’ section – containing expert knowledge and information typically unavailable to brokers – supplies free resources including a repayment calculator, a stamp duty calculator and a rental calculator. The new criteria search tool, knowledge bank, is also available.


The rental calculator allows advisers to see how a large mortgage can be achieved with a given rental amount. It also enables brokers to select the interest rate and stress margins to compare the difference between limited companies and individuals when borrowing.

Connect for Intermediaries provides brokers with access to complex buy-to-let, commercial and bridging loans, as well as the whole range of mainstream mortgages. Brokers can either join Connect’s network, refer clients or use its packaging arm. The organisation guarantees a ‘no cross sell’ agreement in all cases.

The site reflects these perks, containing details of the exclusives available either to network members or DAs under Connect’s packaging or referral options.

The company also provides full transparency of the proc fees and commission available across its range of products. In most cases, brokers using the packaging service will receive the same procuration fee that they would do if they went direct to lender.

“We spent some months finding out what tools a broker would find most helpful when doing their job, particularly when placing more complex or specialist mortgage cases,” Liz Syms, chief executive officer for Connect for Intermediaries, said.

“All of these we have included on our website as a free range of tools and information. Brokers can, of course, still phone our specialist help desk if they need any additional help.”

Network members benefit from Connect’s ‘central administration unit’, which includes Connect carrying out all administration associated with submitting a mortgage case and leaving brokers free to see other clients.

Syms added: “We believe that Connect for Intermediaries now provides everything a broker needs in order to place every mortgage quickly and easily, maximising the amount of time they can spend with clients and enabling them to see more clients in a day than they could before.”
