Bristol start-up set to ‘take the mortgage market by storm’

Newly-launched brokerage Lloyd Wells Mortgages is aiming to make the homebuying process hassle-free for first-time buyers, buy-to-let investors and remortgagers.

The Bristol-based company was born from Peter Lloyd and Adam Wells’ combined passion for providing people with friendly, easy-to-understand mortgage advice.

Wells comments: “We believe that there is a mortgage for everyone – even in the current climate. There will always be a level of uncertainty about finance and mortgages, but it’s so important for us to put people at ease.”

“We pride ourselves on delivering a relaxed service at what can often be a stressful milestone in life. That’s why we make a point of going to our client’s home or place of work for their full appointment.”

Wells, who was recently named a ‘Top-Rated Adviser’ in The Times’ 2020 Guide, says that it’s common for most mortgage advisors to not leave the office or meet clients in person. However, the team at Lloyd Wells Mortgages are passionate about ‘going on that journey’ with their clients.

With an ethos that ‘there is a mortgage for everybody’, the broker aims to offer down-to-earth and practical home-purchasing advice, and the expertise of the specialist team ensures all circumstances, however niche, are catered for with a range of viable financial options.

Lloyd adds: “The South West region and Bristol, in particular, has always been a destination for attracting employment growth within the media, arts and creative sectors. Over the past few years, this has resulted in an increase in individuals working as freelancers, contractors or entrepreneurial start-ups.”

“It’s a common misconception that mortgage applications are simply not possible with just one years’ worth of accounts, but we’re here to help debunk those mortgage myths and help more independent young professionals become property owners.”

He explains that with interest rates currently so low, the competitive market has turned to alternative criteria on which to qualify applications, such as employment status and credit rating. Because of this, it’s especially important that individuals and couples get the right support and guidance to feel confident with their property choices.

Lloyd Wells Mortgages is also passionate about giving back to its community’s roots and is eager to show how positively it can impact the South West as the business grows.

“Strengthening our business’ (and our clients’) sense of community is important to us, that’s why we’re delighted to announce we are taking on the business challenge set by The Grand Appeal for 2020,” Lloyd continues.

Aiming to raise £25,000 for an impressive sensory play programme, Lloyd Wells Mortgages alongside 24 other generous companies will raise at least £1,000 to support the Play 4 All programme that helps long stay children with additional needs.
