Hundreds of advisers set to attend Paymentshied’s GI conference

Paymentshield is launching its first virtual conference of the year to help bring advisers together and create an opportunity for the sharing of knowledge and experience.

Hundreds of industry professionals are expected to attend the May conference on the back of its 2020 ‘Changing World’ event, which saw registration close early after reaching 1000-plus sign-ups a week before the event, and an average attendee satisfaction rate of 8.6/10.

Taking place on Wednesday May 26, this year’s ‘Be GI’ conference will comprise a full schedule of panel discussions that delve into General Insurance best practice, predict where the property market is heading next, and share insight on how advisers can engage clients, overcome objections and thrive against all odds.

Alongside the sessions delivered by expert speakers from Mortgage Advice Bureau (MAB), Openwork, MIAC Analytics, SimplyBiz Mortgages, Kensington/Precise and Mortgage Intelligence, attendees will also hear from advisers who’ve succeeded during lockdown and have access to interactive expo areas where they can learn more about how to maximise their GI business from the comfort of home.

Some 54% of attendees at Paymentshield’s last conference said that GI had become a more important source of income to their business as a result of the economic instability caused by Covid-19.

Paymentshield works with hundreds of GI specialists nationwide, and in 2020 highlighted the scale of the GI opportunity with reports that advisers miss out on £47.8 million in commission from lost GI sales.

Rob Evans, chief executive officer of Paymentshield, comments: “Last year, and last year’s conference, taught us the power of community in this sector. As restrictions ease and some sense of normality returns, this kind of collective, mutual support must continue.”

Evans says the Be GI conference is designed to be such a community, and one from which advisers can learn, inspire and support one another.

He adds: “We’ve had to adapt to such seismic change as an industry over the past year and for many the value of GI – which is often overlooked and underestimated – has become even more important; advisers are having to seek new ways to breathe new life into their GI conversations.”

“With some of the industry’s leading organisations as partners, our virtual conference spotlights GI as a resilient revenue stream in today’s volatile marketplace. Paymentshield is therefore inviting professionals in the insurance world to ‘Be GI’ by really embracing GI and its potential.”

He concludes: “We’re confident given the exceptional attendance of our last conference that attendees will find ‘Be GI’ just as uplifting, educational and enjoyable an experience. We look forward to welcoming everyone!”
