Knowledge about which features of the home are the most desirable can help sellers attract buyers. By analysing online search volumes of Google search data across different nations GetAgent.co.uk has discovered the world’s most wanted property features.  

The most recurrent property-related search terms in both English and the country’s languages were analysed in the research.

Most popular features in the UK

Amongst UK homebuyers land ranked top as the most important feature, with an additional part of a property such as an out building also sparking interest. 

Summer houses, woodland, waterfalls, garages, gardens, stables, and bars also made it to the top 10 most popular features in UK homes.

Despite not being the warmest destination, swimming pools ranked as the third most sought-after property feature in the UK according to the research.

International property wish list

The most sought-after property feature in 52 countries is swimming pools. In second place are gardens with 19 countries viewing this as highly sought after. 

The online search volumes of the property also reveal that homes with at least three bedrooms were highly important for 18 countries, putting this feature in third place. 

Good views were top priority for 9 countries, a flat roof was important for 8 countries and attic space was important for 5 countries.

Four bedrooms, a balcony, an annex, and a garage are also ranked amongst some of the most sought-after features for homebuyers around the world.
