A new calculator from Shawbrook will allow brokers to compare mortgage products more easily, including EPC-based quoting for accurate discounts.

The tool will be available on the company’s broker hub. It allows brokers to filter products based on the fixed rate period or arrangement fee, as well as selecting the property’s EPC rating in order to quote the correct EPC discount available.

Daryl Norkett, director real estate proposition at Shawbrook, says: “Our new Broker Hub Calculator will make it easier for brokers to compare these options and consider what best suits their individual customer’s needs.”

The bank has also announced an expanded range of complex buy-to-let products for landlords, available with 2%, 3% or 5% fixes, with 2, 3, 5 or 10 year fixed and variable rate options. Rates have been cut by up to 0.4% on buy-to-let products under £1m, which the company says will offer landlords more cost-effective financing options.

Supporting brokers’ needs

Shawbrook says that while it has also aligned its loan size banding with its commercial mortgages product range, the change will be of particular relevance to brokers managing active cases.

To make way for the expanded suite of complex BTL options the company has retired its limited edition BTL products.

Norkett says: “These enhancements demonstrate our commitment to supporting brokers and their clients with solutions that meet a wide range of needs. By expanding our product range and improving our terms, we’re making it simpler for landlords to secure the right financing for their property investments.”
