Skipton launches 'longer, lower' BTL range

Skipton Building Society claims it has broken new ground by launching a new range of "longer and lower" buy-to-let mortgages.

The range includes seven-year fixed rate buy-to-let products and is available from today.

It includes high-fee options at 60%, 70% and 75% loan-to-value (LTV) over fixed terms of two, three, five and seven years.

Skipton has also cut selected buy-to-let fixed rates by up to 0.25%.

It said the new five and seven-year deals offer long-term peace of mind for landlords in an uncertain interest rate environment.

The new buy-to-let products are available through all intermediaries and the Society's Skipton Direct customer service centre.

Paul Darwin, head of intermediary sales at Skipton, said: "This new range of buy-to-lets really is breaking new ground and certainly offers something for everyone.

"In particular it's great for landlords who, thanks to the longer term deals, want to secure their future in terms of buy-to-let commitments."

Remortgages qualify for free standard legal fees and a free standard valuation. There may be some additional legal costs payable for remortgages above £1 million.

A free standard valuation is available on properties valued up to £1,5 million. If a homebuyer's report or buildings survey is required, the additional cost will be incurred by the customer.
