Home of Choice poised to announce LSL as new owners

Home of Choice is set today to announce that it has been sold to a new owner, believed to be LSL Property Services, owners of estate agency chains Your Move and Reeds Rains.

LSL’s last purchase, completed in January, was for the Halifax chain of estate agents. It concluded that deal for just £1, but also took £36m ‘sweeteners’ to encourage it to do the deal: Halifax had significant liabilities, including pensions and premises.

Home of Choice yesterday announced a series of meetings for its advisers to inform them about the network’s new owners.

The first meeting is being held this morning at the Home of Choice head office in Chippenham, Wiltshire. Other meetings are being held throughout the rest of today, plus tomorrow and Friday, around the country.

Gerry O’Brien, CEO of Home of Choice, said of the meetings: “These will cover authorisation, delayed payments, pipeline business and information about the new owners.”

He added: “On behalf of the Home of Choice Board, I would like to confirm that we are delighted with the progress made to date on taking the business forward, and we look forward to sharing more details with you over the coming days.”
