Paul Brett, founder of the Freehold Packager Association, has joined Borro, which lends against assets such as jewellery, antiques, fine art and cars.

In his new capacity as business development director, he will spearhead Borro’s move into the intermediary market.

Brett said: “I am delighted to join such a progressive business. I am tasked with the job of bringing this unique facility to the attention of the broker market and I am really excited by the challenge.

“I am sure that intermediaries will like the simplicity and speed with which they will be able to help clients, particularly those who have found traditional methods of raising short-term funding too restrictive. I look forward to introducing the company to contacts old and new at this week's Expo where we are exhibiting.”

Paul Aitken, CEO at Borro which he founded two years ago, said: “I am pleased to welcome Paul on board. His experience of the intermediary market is second to none.”

All of Borro’s valuation experts have worked for leading auction houses, including Sotheby’s, Christie’s and Bonhams. All assets are stored in secure and insured specialist vaults or other premises.

It offers 7.5% of the loan value in commission to introducers.
