Online searches for the word ‘mortgages’ have dropped 14% since the start of the year.
However, searches for ‘loans’ have risen 6% in the same period.
According to social marketing and research agency Greenlight, ‘mortgages’ accounted for 35% of bank-related online searches in January. But by July, ‘mortgages’ accounted for 31% of searches and ‘loans’ for 37%.
Loans that were searched for included ‘pay day loans’, ‘loans for bad credit’ and ‘student loans’.
