Phil Whitehouse has left his role as head of The Mortgage Alliance, the mortgage club sold by Santander to LSL in July last year.

Whitehouse, a regular blogger for Introducer Today, had run TMA since 2007 and went with the business on its sale.

He is now running his own consultancy firm.

LSL’s director of mortgage services, David Copland, has taken over the day to day running of TMA. Copland, who became director of mortgages in May this year and who also has operational responsibility for the Pink Mortgage Club, said: "The DA market is a space with a huge amount of potential and with its two brands, LSL is ideally positioned to support advisers who prefer the independence of being directly authorised but who welcome a broad range of strong, high quality support.

"We are currently focusing on developing a number of enhancements to our compliance support services as well as continuing to develop our mortgage panels, which we will be rolling out over the rest of the year. It is our mission to be the partner of choice for directly authorised firms and advisers."
