LendInvest and NACFB to launch first Broker Property Development Course

Property lender, LendInvest, has launched the first LendInvest Broker Property Development Course in partnership with the National Association of Commercial Finance Brokers (NACFB).

The launch follows an increased demand among brokers for their own version of the popular non-profit course LendInvest Property Development Academy, which provides aspiring developers with suitable skills to get schemes built on time and on budget.

Commenting on the launch, co-founder and chief investment officer of LendInvest, Ian Thomas, said that building a course tailored specifically for brokers was “the next logical step”.

The course aims to give brokers a better understanding of how to add more value to clients that require development finance, outlining in detail what it takes to ensure small-scale developments run smoothly.

“Our broker network has expressed an interest in our Academy courses for borrowers since the first one launched in Autumn 2016,” Thomas added. “Being able to fully understand what their borrower is going through during their development project enables a broker to better anticipate and act on what it is their client needs from them.”

Including real-life studies, presentations and group exercises led by a range of property professionals, the course helps brokers to build their own network of relevant industry contacts.

These courses are hosted in partnership with the NACFB and are available exclusively to the members of the association in an effort to promote the benefit of education within the NACFB broker community.

Managing director of the NACFB, Norman Chambers, said: “The NACFB are delighted to support its valued patron LendInvest with hosting a series of one day Broker Development Courses for members.”

“I am confident these will be a great success and know that those who attend will benefit from the expert speaker presentations.”

The Home Builders Federation, Homes for Scotland and the Centre for Entrepreneurs have offered public support to the LendInvest Property Development Academy.

Thomas continued: “Response to both our Property Development Academies and Broker Property Development Courses has been brilliant, and we are excited to continue our rollout of the program into next year.”

The first LendInvest Broker Property Development Course has taken place in London, with another due to run this autumn. A further two courses are planned for early 2018.
