Knowledge Bank expands with three new appointments

Knowledge Bank, a market-leading criteria search system, is expanding with the appointment of three new roles.

An increasing number of mortgage brokers have been using the Knowledge Bank system since the start of the pandemic, with lenders’ criteria changing on a daily basis.

This has led to the need for a new broker support role; a digital executive to report to chief technical officer and creator of Knowledge Bank Craig Flannigan, and a new head of media sales.

Paul Hunt, the current head of media sales for the past two years, will now focus specifically on Knowledge Bank’s marketing.

The new appointee of media sales will expand Knowledge Bank’s range of educational webinars in addition to expanding opportunities for the company as a whole.

Knowledge Bank is now the UK’s largest database of mortgage lending criteria, containing over 111,000 different criteria. It boasts criteria from over 200 lenders across residential, buy-to-let, second charges, self-build, equity release, bridging and commercial loans.

It made its mark in the industry by enabling brokers to enter an unlimited number of search criteria when looking for the best mortgage for their clients, as well as providing them with evidence of research.

Nicola Firth, chief executive office of Knowledge Bank, comments: “The need for a comprehensive criteria search system has come into its own in the past two years, but particularly since the outbreak of Covid-19.”

“There were weeks during lockdown where there were in excess of a thousand criteria changes in a single week and we are still seeing several hundred changes per week now. It was simply impossible for mortgage brokers to keep on top of the vast swathe of changes that were happening without the use of Knowledge Bank.”

Firth says a surge in brokers using the system means there is a real need for a broker support co-ordinator. Part of their job will be to gather brokers’ feedback on how Knowledge Bank is working for them which will then feed into future development.

“We already have a rapid pace of development, but the new digital executive will help to ensure that we continue to be responsive with developments implemented as quickly as possible,” she adds.

“Our new head of media sales will expand on our highly popular, educational webinar programme and will help to expand Knowledge Bank still further. These new appointments will ensure that Knowledge Bank stays at the forefront of criteria search and continues to be the most comprehensive, effective and responsive criteria search system in the mortgage market.”
