Mortgage Advice Bureau launches General Insurance tech for advisers

Mortgage Advice Bureau (MAB) has partnered with Legal & General and Uinsure to launch B&C InstantQuote to its national network of mortgage and protection advisers.

The technology will allow advisers to have instant quotes and ‘Buy Now’ options for both insurers, which are integrated via the MAB’s Midas Pro system under the name B&C Instant Quote.

Legal & General, General Insurance has recently launched its SmartQuote technology for intermediaries, whilst Uinsure has done the same with its Buy Now product.

With the technology, advisers no longer need to ask customers numerous detailed questions, some of which the customer may not know the answer to.

Andy Walton, protection proposition director at Mortgage Advice Bureau, comments: “General Insurance is an important market for us and using technology to significantly enhance the customer and adviser experience is a priority for MAB, which is why we have partnered with two leading insurers to make the process of buying building and contents insurance a lot easier.”

SmartQuote’s integration with MAB is the first in a series of partnerships for Legal & General as the FTSE 100 insurer aims to simplify the application and claims process for advisers and home insurance customers.

Simon Hird, director of broker and intermediary for Legal & General, adds: “Mortgage advisers have a vital role to play in raising awareness of the importance of home insurance and ensuring homeowners are properly protected.”

“However, after a lengthy mortgage application process, we know that arranging insurance isn’t always a top priority for many homeowners.”

He says because of this, it’s even more important that the insurer makes it easier to include home insurance as part of the mortgage advice journey.

Uinsure’s ‘Buy Now’ technology is the latest development in a range of recently-launched partnerships, which aims to produce a binding general insurance quote with zero questions, making the process as quick and easy as possible.

David Smith, chief innovation officer at Uinsure, says: “This partnership further demonstrates the significance of our Zero Questions user journey with a focus on advice to deliver better customer outcomes.”

“The ease of generating a quote is vital to the customer journey as this empowers the adviser with increased time to advise instead of asking unnecessary property detail or data capture questions. With our Buy Now technology, the best advice, experience and products are now in the adviser’s hands at the point of mortgage advice delivery to provide better customer outcomes for all.”
