Legal & General Surveying Services outlines ambitions to grow

Legal & General Surveying Services (LGSS) plans to increase its visibility across the mortgage market, continue to enhance its technology capabilities and reinforce its position as a premium partner for lenders handling increasingly complex valuation requirements, the company has said.

The ambitions follow a year of investment in its leadership team, technology and the development of new and existing industry partnerships, as well as transitioning to new ownership after the company separated from Legal & General Group last November.

A changing market

Richard Sexton, managing director of Legal & General Surveying Services, said: “The valuation market has changed significantly over recent years; the rate of change is picking up speed, and our business is evolving with it. We’ve invested in experienced people, strengthened our technology and continued to focus on nurturing industry relationships.

“That work has given us a platform for growth. The next chapter starts now, and we’re looking forward to sharing more about what that means for our clients and the wider market.”

He said that lenders are increasingly looking for partners that combine experienced surveyors with modern technology and robust risk management. “The market doesn’t need another valuation firm trying to process more cases faster,” said Sexton.

“It needs firms that know when technology is appropriate and when professional judgement makes the difference. That’s the business we’re continuing to build.”

Further developments will be announced in the coming weeks, the company said.
